One of my children lives abroad – Can they be a trustee or benefit from a Trust?
Video will appear soon
Ideally, they should not be a Trustee as it will be more difficult to resolve issues at point of death of the settlor. In addition, in particular USA, France and Spain have tax implication on Trustees which are not beneficial.
However people living abroad can certainly be beneficiaries of a trust and their right are very strongly protected by UK trust legislation.
